I have not heard of this one, who is the songwriter?

I started this thread intended to post something later, but my daughter was ill, so I did not make it out to any service. I listened to a selection of worship songs on Musicmatch jukebox instead

Our Sunday sercive has all contemporary selections:

My Redeemer Lives (really a great song, especially with electric lead guitar!)

You Are God
Be the Center
Beautiful One
Lord I Lift Your Name on High
Trading My Sorrows

I have been the worship leader at our fellowship (The Church which is at Ahwatukee) for almost 2 years. Being a new ministry for me (I played in the world professionally) my focus has been on increasing the number of songs, song selection and style diversity. Without attaching our entire songlist and lead sheets (unless someone would like them) we sing a variety of styles which include contemporary, traditional gospel, bluegrass, Hebrew and songs with any ethnic flavor like Irish folk, Calypso, Spanish etc...The God we serve is diverse in nature and I know He speaks to the hearts of His people through praise and worship music as well as inspirational music. Whether the song was written in 1890 or 1990, if it blesses the hearer and inspires them to worship I'll sing it. Christ is my life and music is the way I express His grace and love in me. Being a worship leader is a blessing as it expands the calling and helps bring our fellowship into a spirit of worship whereby He may inhabit in the praises of His people.

God bless....bro joe

I like your style, bro joe. I wish my hubby (who is our worship leader) would incorporate more older songs in to the worship sometimes. Someone besides me has to suggest it though. LOL

We do a variety of styles, too, but the thing is, they have to be all "new" for him to do it. LOL...I told him "Trading My Sorrows" is about ten years old, time to retire it." :-)

i can't agree more, My redeemer lives is indeed a great song to play on electric guitar. have you also tried- "How Great Is Our God" by Chris Tomlin and "Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury? We usually play this with tune o matic bridge inour church for better intonation but sounds amazing on electric guitars.
