I have been the worship leader at our fellowship (The Church which is at Ahwatukee) for almost 2 years. Being a new ministry for me (I played in the world professionally) my focus has been on increasing the number of songs, song selection and style diversity. Without attaching our entire songlist and lead sheets (unless someone would like them) we sing a variety of styles which include contemporary, traditional gospel, bluegrass, Hebrew and songs with any ethnic flavor like Irish folk, Calypso, Spanish etc...The God we serve is diverse in nature and I know He speaks to the hearts of His people through praise and worship music as well as inspirational music. Whether the song was written in 1890 or 1990, if it blesses the hearer and inspires them to worship I'll sing it. Christ is my life and music is the way I express His grace and love in me. Being a worship leader is a blessing as it expands the calling and helps bring our fellowship into a spirit of worship whereby He may inhabit in the praises of His people.
God bless....bro joe
