Ephesians 2:8

New King James Version (NKJV)

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Righteousness is never imputed to anyone apart from faith.
Bible faith is explained with examples in Hebrews chapter 11. It is clear in James that saving faith not only believes in the character and total reliability of the God that made the promise as Abraham did, but acts on the truth(s) that God has given with no sense evidence also as Abraham did. In fact often there is sense evidence that indicates it is impossible.

When the believer has made the required sacrifice by grace through faith (Romans 12:1) then the Holy Spirit training in Bible faith, holiness and the death of the self life begins (Romans 12:2). Like any training there are prerequisites which are the Acts 2:4 experience and understanding the Romans 6:1-14 explanation of water baptism in Jesus name. Bible faith training is the core curriculum (Hebrews 11:6) which is training to believe what God promises in the meaning of the word salvation with no sense evidence and trusting Jesus alone to do as He promises. The disciple also must believe Hebrews 13:8.

It is helpful to know what the Greek word sozo-to save means because this is what the disciple is expected to believe and be trained to put into practice, again with no sense evidence. It is also important to know which of the promises included in sozo are for this life like material and temporal deliverance form suffering and danger Matthew 8:25, 1Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 4:18; healing/made whole from sickness as in Matthew 9:22, Mark 5:34, Luke 8:48, and James 5:15 which is the only direction for healing sickness given to the believing church by the Holy Spirit; the deliverance from the bondage of sin Hebrews 7:25 (the believer does not have 2 natures!). For the future and this life it includes the immediate gift of spiritual and eternal salvation to those who receive Christ by grace through faith i.e. sins forgiven.
Of course the Holy Spirit training in holiness and the death of the self life are concurrent to the faith training.

This is the "basic package" but there are over 7000 promises in the Bible that are for any Christian that will believe and receive.
Some promises and training of course are not as much fun but joyful like Matthew 5:10-12, James 1:2-3, 1 Peter 1:6-7. Of course the disciple keeps in mind Psalm 34:19, 2 Timothy 4:18, Psalm 103:1-5, and Matthew 6:31-34 to list just a few.
