Let the flaming begin:
'Hand of God' helps City stay top

Bristol City goalkeeper Adriano Basso has revealed that divine inspiration helped him save a penalty in Tuesday night's goalless draw against Watford.

"To be honest many people don't understand or don't believe," the Brazilian, who is a devout Christian, explained to BBC Radio Bristol.

"But I ask the Holy Spirit where they're going to kick.

"He said 'left' and I said 'thank you'. I went to the left side and I saved the ball, so today I was very blessed."

Without sounding flippant, do you think he ever has one of those "Did you mean your left or my left?" moments?

Must admit, I thought of this thread on Saturday afternoon. He went the right way, but the penalty was in the corner.

I'm not necessarily discounting what he's said, I just found it interesting.

Obviously I'm hoping for a comeback tomorrow night. C'mon Palace!

Thought of this again on Tuesday night. :(

I've now seen him face four penalties, and to be fair he hasn't gone the wrong way on any of them.
